Mr. Pinoux is not a name for a wine bottle (Cf. Pinot), but it could be pretty delicious if you take the time to discover him. As it is a French nick name, it should be pronounced Mr. [Pee-noo].

Design for a living - Why?

When I was a kid, I played with my dad’s cameras; I thought it was amazing to be able to freeze time with a picture. Like magic. Now, I've got the toys to play with time & picture and I get to play with it everyday. How awesome is that?

Your style seems to have a variety of influences. Where does it come from?

I started Design as a graffiti artist. It was about creating something unique & spontaneous with a group mentality. I loved "Hip-hop" culture & philosophy. That's how I like to work to this day, everything influences what I do. My journeys, clients, friends, other artists… even tacos.

Do you have any academic training in Design?

Yes, I was immensely lucky to get 1 year intensive programs at each of the great design schools in Paris : ESAG Penninghen, ATEP and EPSAA. Nowadays, thanks to the community of Artists & Designers all around the world, I use extensively online video training.

Your resume is pretty generous, a lot of different things. What is your process?

As Picasso said, "I am always doing that which I cannot do, in order that I may learn how to do it". Everyday I'm thrilled that I can learn something new. With all the tools today, it is exciting to be a motion designer! Prior to that, I was lucky to be a DJ in the Alps (FR) & in NYC, a web-designer when Macromedia still owned Flash and finally a sound engineer / Beat maker in Paris. I just love it all too much. I Definitely feel like I don't have enough time in a day.
